I offer writing and developmental editing services. I have over 30 years of experience as an editor and writer for public agencies, private corporations, non-profits, and private individuals. I have helped many professionals craft articles for peer-reviewed journals and taught a class on writing for master's and doctoral-level scientists.
I offer a mix of developmental editing and coaching. I help nonfiction authors craft a solid book or paper that flows logically and presents a convincing argument, while at the same time avoiding mistakes that undermine their credibility---from poor grammar to unsubstantiated statements. I work with authors of fiction to help them craft a story that hooks readers in with lyrical descriptive passages, interesting characters who have believable emotional arcs, and a solid plot without holes. I have ghost-written novels for those with good ideas but underdeveloped writing skills.
I have taught writing classes and published several articles on good writing. I contributed chapters to several nonfiction books and am the author of "Jane Eyre's Sisters: How Women Live and Write the Heroine Story." I am available for consultation on how to develop believable female protagonists.
