I am an award-winning writer with a Master's Degree in English, and 17 years' experience as an editor. I provide developmental, substantive, and copy editing services, in addition to proofreading and fact-checking. I have extensive experience editing various content, including novels, technical manuals, magazine copy, websites, and academic papers.
Additionally, I have taught English Composition at the collegiate level, and edited for a large software company for eleven years. I am highly proficient in grammar, language, and some linguistics, and work well collaboratively or independently. My continual thirst for knowledge and new learning opportunities means that I am constantly searching for that new idea and experience that will enable me to learn and grow as an editor and writer.
My second passion is writing. Currently, I have published two novels (under the name M.L. Harveland), the first of which won first place in the IndieReader Discovery Award: Paranormal category at the 2012 BookExpo America in New York, NY.
