My fields of expertise include publishing, business, and English as a Second Language. I have worked full-time as a copy editor, writer, publications specialist, and photographer. Prior to that, I worked in banking and accounting, producing financial reports for both small and large companies. I keep my own skills sharp in publishing and business as I work in ESL, teaching writing to both foreign nationals and immigrants to the United States.
I have a master's in education from Antioch University Seattle, a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate from Seattle Pacific University, a secondary (high school) teaching certificate for the State of Washington, and bachelor's degrees in drama and communications from the University of Washington.
When I am not editing or teaching, I am often reading; what I read varies widely—just about anything well written appeals to me. I am an avid photographer as well as a fan of film and theater. In addition to being a member of the Northwest Independent Editors Guild, I am involved in the Seattle InDesign User Group and a number of local WordPress meetups, which helps keep my digital design skills current.
