Retired Editor Membership Status

In recognition of the service that many of our seasoned members have given to the editing community, the Northwest Editors Guild will now offer a level of membership for editors who are retired from professional editing work but still want to engage with our community.

Members electing to switch to this “retired editor” membership level will pay lower Guild dues than the standard membership for working editors (currently $45 instead of $70) and will have full access to the Guild’s discussion list and member-only events. They will receive additional discounted rates for Guild workshops and conferences in recognition of the benefit their ongoing engagement and the sharing of their experience provide to our community, but will not receive access to services geared toward working editors, such as the job board, PerfectIt and CMOS discounts, and being listed in the member directory.

We hope this new membership status will enable editors whose income may be lower than when they were working regularly to continue participating in Guild activities and discussions.

If you are interested in transitioning to this new level of membership, please email info@edsguild.org before your next membership renewal.
