Covid-19 Policy

Some Red Pencil conference attendees will be more vulnerable to illness than average or living with someone who is. For the sake of their safety and your own, we ask everyone to help reduce risks by following this Covid-19 policy, which will be updated based on current conditions.

1. Vaccinate and boost. To prepare, please be up-to-date on your vaccinations and boosters. 

2. Limit exposure for 10 days before the conference. Please take care in the 10 days before the conference to minimize your risk of exposure to the virus, avoiding crowded events and using an effective mask if you will be flying or taking public transportation to the area. 

3. Rapid test immediately before you arrive. We request that you take a Covid-19 rapid test just before arriving at the conference. If you test positive, feel sick, or know that you have been exposed to Covid-19 after May 1, we request that you do not attend. If you are unable to attend due to an actual or potential Covid infection, please see the conference’s refund policy on our Registration Information page for your exchange or refund options.

4. Masking is encouraged at the conference! At the conference, we strongly encourage you to bring and wear your own high-quality mask (for example, an N95, KN95, KF94, or well-fitting surgical mask) to protect yourself and other attendees when not eating. The conference will have some extra masks available.

Safety Precautions at Our Conference Venue

In October 2020, the center achieved GBAC STAR accreditation, implementing the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention in its facility. In addition, LEC staff interacting with attendees will wear masks.
